I use this as a toner + essence. I'm not sure what Firstner is supposed to mean, but the instructions say it goes on before serum, and the texture is thicker than a toner. It has a very nice watery gel feel, which then melts to water kind of thing. The bottle is quite large and lasts a while. You kind of have to shake it out, and I never know when it's empty as the bottle itself is pretty heavy. I like the texture for my dry skin and use it with other products in the Accoje Anti-Aging line, like the capsule serum.
